Longines x Bucherer Spirit Chronograph

This collaboration sees the much-loved Longines Spirit Chronograph get the exclusive “Bucherer Blue” treatment.
 
The Spirit collection celebrates the explorers who have worn Longines timepieces for nearly a century and while the chronograph takes inspiration from pilot’s watches, it’s state-of-the art technology makes it suitable for any modern-day explorer.
 
With regards to this Bucherer Blue edition, the 42mm steel case has been treated with a stealthy black PVD coating which matches the black dial. However, an element luxury comes from the dial’s sunburst finish and flashes of blue on he hands, Longines stars and a blue chapter ring. Generously lume-filled dials and numerals allow for legibility in low light. And possibly my favourite but most discreet design feature is how the diamond-tipped chronograph seconds hand passes perfectly over the diamond cut-outs on the hour markers.
 
Powering the watch is Longines’ calibre L688.4 automatic movement. It’s chronometer certified, features a column wheel chronograph, monocrystal silicon hairspring and offers an impressive 54-hour power reserve.
 
The watch is paired with a black canvas strap, decorated with blue stitching and fitted with a black PVD pin buckle.
